Supplying renewable energy with reliable support

GSE provide specialist support to energy companies within the rapidly growing renewable power generation industry. Customers such as Ener-G UK and Cory Environmental generate electricity through recovery of Methane and CO2 gases produced at Landfill sites, due to decomposition of organic waste.

Industrial engines running on LFG generally require more regular maintenance schedules than natural gas powered engines due to high contaminants contained within LFG, such as Hydrocarbons, Silicon and Siloxanes. Energy companies generally employ in-house service teams of engineers to carry out the day to day running and maintenance of their engines.

GSE are contracted for more involved schedules, when the generator has to be stopped to carry out major overhauls or costly breakdown repairs, and timescales are absolutely paramount. GSE will source genuine parts from OEM suppliers like Caterpillar and Perkins to guarantee peace of mind and reliability for operators. Recent overhauls carried out at our workshops have included complete strip of engines to remove crankshafts for both specialist repair and replacement due to catastrophic failure.

During key stages through a major workshop overhaul, customers can attend to inspect the condition of their engine during strip or rebuild. We work very closely with the customer through the entire job, to ensure parts are thoroughly examined and replaced only when necessary.
